Report Explores the Benefits Offered by New Claims Technology

Expert system technology applied to travel insurance claims offers unparalleled benefits to insurers and is explored in a new report issued this month.

Spanning many key areas including claims costs, fraud protection, operational efficiencies and compliance, the report looks to establish the financial value of each benefit. In the context of an environment of 50,000 claims, it anticipates savings in excess of £1.6 million.

Expert system technology essentially allows for people without any expertise (including customers) to deliver expert quality results. Applied to travel insurance claims, rather than being wholly reliant on the experience of the claims handlers for the accuracy of claims assessment insurers can instead use staff of less experience supported by a system that automatically drives the decision process (the expert system).
