Automated Cart Recovery, from Digi2L

With almost 70% of shoppers abandoning their carts online, it is perhaps no surprise that cart recovery is a common feature in Internet shopping, yet most insurers are still to realise its importance.

Rightpath’s development resource, Digi2L, has recently rolled out its own, automated, time-based cart recovery solution for insurance products. Where it has already begun helping customers successfully recover their policy quotes and make a purchase, and with a 90% delivery rate.

Customers abandon their purchases for many reasons. Often within insurance, the applicant leaves with a quote with which to compare products before they commit to a purchase.

When your products are of a high quality and at a fair price, cart recovery is effective in helping applicants return to complete their purchase once they have satisfied themselves that yours is the best product for them.

Put simply, cart recovery builds brand awareness and provides an easy means for otherwise lost customers to resume their purchase, fast, without the hassle of re-entering all their information.

The Digi2L Difference
Digi2L decided it needed a custom cart abandonment model that would automatically deliver different cart recovery messaging at given times based upon customer activity, by brand. Which while simple to grasp, was quite challenging to build, especially when considering all the conditional logic required in ensuring customers only get the right messages, at the right times.

The solution, now in place, enables automated cart recovery journeys with multi-step, branching logic based on dynamic criteria, with messaging delivered at set intervals via designed message templates.

Crucially, journey and message events and activities are passed back, directly to the quote and customer records, where cart recovery activity and performance data can be reported on for monitoring and audit purposes.

Since its launch in July, the cart recovery solution has already begun delivering conversions, which is testament to the process and the messaging itself.
